Finding an office-, manufacturing- or warehouse space or facility can seem like a difficult task, but it need not be so. New York City is full of resources on real estate of all kinds throughout the five boroughs, whether they be temporary office suites or full-scale factories.
Temporary office suites – often called “executive suites” – offer a wide range of services and can often be the easiest way to set up for short term first. For example, many executive suites provide pre-built offices with furniture, computers, telephones, utilities and access to common conference spaces and reception areas. Many local incubators operate in the same manner. Please note that you will most likely be charged a premium for the convenience and the service, but this may be worthwhile if you need to move in quickly or want to gain a “toehold” in the New York City market while searching for a more permanent office space.

It is highly advisable for any substantial business to seek the advice of a professional real estate broker when seeking any substantial amount of space in New York City. Real estate brokers in the City are paid by the landlords or building owners in the case of commercial spaces (not residential). Competent brokers know the market and can explain common real estate terms and leasing issues to you and can operate as your advocate in obtaining the best deal on commercial space.
